Ink and Insight
A Four-Week Printmaking Workshop at The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art
Tuesdays & Thursdays | 4–7 PM | April 1–24, 2025

Hosted at The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Ink & Insight was a four-week workshop exploring the art of printmaking through guided instruction, hands-on experimentation, and exclusive access to museum resources. Meeting twice a week, participants learned a range of techniques—monoprinting, linocut, drypoint, and collagraph—while building confidence in their artistic voice and creative process.

Each week introduced a new method, encouraging participants to explore line, texture, pattern, and narrative through different approaches to printmaking. Sessions emphasized both technical skill and creative exploration, using professional-grade materials such as Akua inks and plexiglass plates.

In addition to studio time, the program featured a private talk with Dr. Rhiannon Paget, Curator of Asian Art, and offered direct access to the museum’s permanent collection for artistic inspiration and learning.

The workshop culminated in a group exhibition and critique, where participants shared their completed works, reflected on their progress, and discussed methods for preserving and presenting prints. Ink & Insight welcomed artists of all levels, creating a supportive environment rooted in experimentation, dialogue, and discovery.
